Get ready for a splash of color during this year’s National Chemistry Week (NCW) celebration, October 18–24, 2015. The theme “Chemistry Colors Our World!” gives a chance to explore the chemistry of dyes, pigments, and light. An upcoming free webinar can get you started with resources.
On Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 6:30 p.m. Eastern, “Chemistry Colors Our World!”—Resources for National Chemistry Week, the Classroom, and Beyond will highlight resources useful for National Chemistry Week, for integrating into classroom curriculum, and for informal science sharing. Anyone who wants to connect science to the real world and students’ interests will find ready-to-use demonstrations, lab investigations, videos, and more. Registration is currently open—participants should register ahead of time at the link above.
I’m co-presenting this ACS/NSTA webinar with teacher Analice Sowell. Until recently, she served on the ACS Committee on Community Activities where she helped lead the development of several NCW and Chemists Celebrate Earth day themes.
If you can’t join us live, please check the NSTA Web Seminars site afterward for archived materials. We’ll also be discussing the webinar on Twitter during and after with the tag #ColorNCW.
