First step of experiment C of "Like Dissolves Like"
This video is one part of a video experiment, which is one experiment of six that can be used to engage in thinking about "Like Dissolves Like" solubility. This series of six experiments involves permutations of mixing three liquids, using a powder to provide color so that the layers can be readily seen. Each of the six experiments is presented in three parts. In part one the powder is added to one of the liquids. In part two, a second liquid is introduced and in part three the third liquid is added. After viewing these video experiments, you should be able to determine the relative densities of the four species involved and their miscibility with one another.
