I am a precollege instructor in Portage, MI teaching chemistry, organic chemistry, computer applications, and web design. I previously taught high school in Indianapolis and was an adjunct instructor at IUPUI. I attended graduate school at Indiana University and earned 2 Master's degrees: MS Organic Chemistry (2011) and MAT Chemistry (2012). I have been a member of the ACS, AACT, HASTI, MSTA, and NSTA. In the August 4th issue of Science Magazine, author Mary Soon Lee shared a review of a periodic table that contains haiku for each element. There is an interactive periodic table you can click on; it was easily viewable in the mobile version of the article.

This week, one of my students alerted me to some mobile apps featuring chemistry. One, in particular, seems to be mostly free and incorporates a hands-on approach to conducting virtual laboratory experiments. The app is called BEAKER - Mix Chemicals and is offered by THIX on the Apple and Google Play Stores.
