As a STEM master teacher in the Long Island region, I present at local, state and national conferences. I enjoy the opportunity to work to facilitate in my classroom and see the benefit it offers and then be able to turnkey and share with other teachers. I utilize a flipped classroom and enjoy the students first trying to engage in the model prior to watching a video or lecture component to add or extend beyond the POGIL.

I previously "NGSS-ified" one of my favorite inquiry labs to begin the kinetics unit; Alka Seltzer Rockets. In this lab students are given a film canister, a quantity of Alka Seltzer of their own choosing and any materials available in the room to investigate factors that affect the rate of reaction.
