Until her retirement in 2015, Holly taught chemistry and playwriting at Madison College where she received the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2007. She is the founder of Fusion Science Theater, a cross-disciplinary group dedicated to using story form to create demo shows that promote and assess concept learning. She currently runs workshops that teach these methods to educators and museum staff who want to develop outreach shows that teach and entertain. She was named Community College Faculty of the Year award in 2013.
