Types of Conceptual Questions (CQs): Analogy Questions
These questions are based on completing an analogy (A is to B as C is to D). The stem of the question contains the first part of the analogy (A is to B as) and the student selects the alternate that best completed the analogy (C is to D).
Example of Analogy Question
H3O+ is to H2O as:
(a) H2O is to O2-.
(b) NH3 is to NH2-.
(c) Na+ is to Cl-.
(d) H2SO4 is to Na2SO4.
(e) OH- is to H2O.
