The following changes have been made from the first edition:

• New and updated video
• New HTML interface
• Full text searching of Teaching General Chemistry: A Materials Science Companion is now available
• Movies section is identical to the Solid State Resources Movies included on JCE Software's General Chemistry Collection
• Slide Shows are now presented using a WWW browser instead of Microsoft PowerPoint
• Companion and Overhead Masters are available only as PDF (Adobe Acrobat) files; the Microsoft Word files have been removed
