In this example the pipet will deliver 94 µL.

Digital pipettors deliver liquids in volumes from 1 mL to 1µL or less. They are sometimes called "micropipets", "Eppendorf pipets" or simply "Eppendorfs" after one of the more prevalent brands.

The basic principle of the pipettor is that the user can turn the plunger to dial in the desired volume (see video), then aspirate and deliver this amount accurately and reproducibly at the push of a button, rather than by using a conventional glass pipet and rubber bulb or pipet pump.

Note that a pipettor functions like the bulb or pump on a conventional glass pipet in that the solution never enters the body of the pipettor but is contained entirely in a disposable plastic tip which attaches to the barrel of the instrument.
