Set-up Check that the end of the barrel is not contaminated with solution. Select and attach the correct size tip.
Dial in the desired volume (in microliters). Be careful not to exceed the limits of the pipettor. In this example, 94 µL of solution will be transferred.
Aspirating Solution
Depress the plunger to the first STOP. Place the tip below the surface of the solution to be measured, then slowly release the plunger.
CAUTION: Sudden release of the plunger will cause the solution to splash inside the tip and possibly onto the barrel. This leads to incorrect measurements and contamination of the instrument.
The desired volume of liquid is now contained in the pipettor tip.
CAUTION: Hold the pipettor upright at all times. Failure to do so allows the solution to run up the walls of the tip and onto the barrel, leading to incorrect measurements and contamination of the instrument.
