Paramagnetism: Nitrogen and Oxygen - Oxygen
When pale blue liquid oxygen is used, however, a different behavior is observed. The oxygen sticks between the poles of the magnet until it vaporizes away, showing that the liquid oxygen is paramagnetic, while liquid nitrogen was not.
