Library of Challenge Problems (ChPs): Atomic Theory
In another universe the s energy sublevels hold 3 electrons, p sublevels 6, d sublevels 9, and f sublevels 15. When elements form chemical bonds, they try to achieve a nonet (9 valence electrons) instead of an octet. When they form covalent bonds they share a trio (3) of valence electrons.

Draw a sketch of the periodic table for the elements in this other universe. Elements with atomic numbers 1-26 have the symbols A, B, C, . . . , Z respectively and elements 27-33 the symbols Aa, Bb, Cc, . . . , Gg.

Write the electron configurations for elements with atomic numbers 5, 11, and 27.

Draw the Lewis dot symbol for L, Q, and Z.
