Voiceover
Hexane is placed inside a vial that is sitting in a dish of colored water. The hexane is ignited and the vial is covered with a beaker. The reaction stops when there is insufficient oxygen available in the region of the flame to support combustion. After the flame goes out, the colored water rises in the beaker because the gases inside the beaker are cooled and their volume decreases. Water vapor condenses on the walls of the beaker.
