Manganese

Manganese has the most irregular structure of the transition metals. Solid manganese metal contains atoms with four different types of coordination spheres: one with a coordination number of 12, a second with a coordination number of 10, a third with a coordination number of 12 but a geometry differing from the last type, and a fourth with a coordination number of 11.
