Drawing a NaCl - Type Unit Cell

Most drawings of unit cells use small spheres to represent atoms so the atoms inside the cell are visible. Thin lines are sometimes used to help indicate the position of the ions inside the cell.

This drawing uses small ions so the geometries are more obvious. In a real crystal, anions and cations touch.

The unit cell of NaCl is drawn in a cube.
