Use a glass rod or a medicine dropper to remove a drop of liquid from the solution to be tested. Touch a drop of the liquid to the pH paper.
NEVER dip the paper into the solution. The indicator dye on the paper can dissolve into the solution, contaminating the sample.
Look at the end of the video, what would you say the pH of the solution is?
Answer
The paper is initially orangish, so it is probably Alkacid paper. Once a drop of the solution is touched to the paper, the paper becomes a red color. The red color on Alkacid paper indicates that the solution is acidic with a pH between 1 and 3.
