| Reaction of Potassium Iodide Crystal With Lead Nitrate: Microscale Movie |
Discussion
A crystal of potassium iodide (KI) is placed on a slide containing a drop of a 1.0M solution of lead(II) nitrate, Pb(NO3)2. The crystal is pushed into the solution with a small stylus. The reaction forms the bright yellow precipitate lead(II) iodide, PbI2. The reaction was filmed with a magnification of 30X.
