Discussion Unless instructed to do otherwise, right-handed students will usually control the buret with the right hand and swirl the flask with the left. Beginning students tend to deliver titrant, stop delivery, swirl the solution, and observe the results. This procedure works, but it is very inefficient. Narrative One common hand technique for beginning students uses the right hand to control flow. The flow is stopped periodically, the flask is swirled, and the color is observed. The student only needs to focus on one task at a time. This obviously slows things down. |
