potassium chromate and silver nitrate

Adding yellow potassium chromate to colorless silver nitrate produces a red-orange precipitate.

Solution A: 0.2 M potassium chromate (yellow)
Solution B: 0.1 M silver nitrate (colorless)
Precipitate: (red-orange)
2 AgNO₃(aq) + K₂CrO₄(aq) --> Ag₂CrO₄(s) + 2 KNO₃(aq)
