sodium sulfide and cadmium(II) chloride
Adding colorless sodium sulfide to colorless cadmium(II) chloride produces a yellow precipitate.
Solution A: 0.1 M sodium sulfide (colorless)
Solution B: 0.2 M cadmium(II) chloride (colorless)
Precipitate: (yellow)
CdCl2(aq) + Na2S(aq) --> CdS(s) + 2 NaCl(aq)
