Adding colorless sodium hydroxide to colorless silver nitrate produces a brown precipitate.
Solution A: 0.5 M sodium hydroxide (colorless)
Solution B: 0.1 M silver nitrate (colorless)
Precipitate: (brown)
2 AgNO3(aq) + 2 NaOH(aq) --> Ag2O(s) + 2 NaNO3(aq) + H2O(l)
