sodium hydroxide and nickel(II) nitrate
Adding colorless sodium hydroxide to green nickel(II) nitrate produces a light green precipitate.
Solution A: 0.5 M sodium hydroxide (colorless)
Solution B: 0.2 M nickel(II) nitrate (green)
Precipitate: (light green)
Ni(NO3)2(aq) + 2 NaOH(aq) --> Ni(OH)2(s) + 2 NaNO3(aq)
